We Love Food

I always loved the art of food. Grown up between my mother and granny, both exceptional home cooks, I started cooking myself at an early age. I still remember my first steps where I convinced my poor old granddad to eat the massively under-cooked noodles I served up for dinner.

Later on I trained as a chef in an Austrian restaurant, but soon after I started writing and art as my main source of income. Now, several years later, I relocated to Southeast Asia and here I discovered the true value of food.

Food is not only a source of nutrition that creates this wonderful satisfaction of a full belly. Food is also awesome for keeping homesickness at bay. Living abroad creates cravings for what my grandma used to make for me when I was a child. Jolly good I can recreate most of her recipes, even if there are no recipes.

But food is also a fantastic adventure for the daring spirit. Especially here in Saigon you find a plethora of local and international restaurants and kitchens. I not only got used to Vietnamese food - I would seriously miss my Mi Quang if I had to take my family abroad for some reason - I also got much closer to other foreign cuisines, like Indian food for example.

But the best thing about food is, everybody loves it and you never get bored writing about it.

So, without any further ado -
enjoy Saigon and its marvellous culinary diversity!
